The lntergovernmental Oceanographic Commission holds a full meeting every two years. In alternate years, such as 1988, the Executive Council of the Commission meets to carry out business and to prepare for the full meeting. This year’s meeting was held in Paris at IOC Headquarters during March 7–15.
